Cons:
There were very few tourist on St. Thomas during the Corona outbreak. Thankfully they stayed open had sanitizer inside and outside the facility. My flight was cancelled and they made it quick and easy to extend my rental.4.0 Mediocre

Cons:
Office closed, car unavailable when we arrived. Reservations tried to double our rate to pick up same car next morning. Finally got the airport location to honor our reservations but we still paid too much. Only one decent person there, the girl at the airport desk. Thank you to her!5.6 Fair

Cons:
Had to wait almost an hour for pickup, even though I had a reservation made almost a year ahead8.0 Very good

Pros:
Very friendly staff and rather quickCons:
When I booked the car online, I did not realize it was at a location one mile from the airport and not at the airport. Apparently they are two different locations. My error I think.2.0 Poor

Pros:
Staff were helpful and relatively friendly.Cons:
There were lots small roaches in the car and they didn’t have any other cars to move us into. They gave us a 7% discount to compensate, which seemed pretty measly given the unsanitary aspect of having to see and know that roaches were crawling around our stuff and possibly on us too. It was a Kia Soul which also didn’t have enough power for the steeper hills and would bottom out going over speed bumps, so for a compact SUV, it really wasn’t a suitable auto for the Virgin Islands. The shuttle driver was friendly and helpful w/ loading and unloading our bags and they were efficient w/ check in and check out. I’ve rented from Economy many times in many locations and this was my first not great experience.4.0 Mediocre

Pros:
Staff was ok, it is really way below average. the first car we got, the handle/armrest on the driver side came off the door. The replacement car was even worse, has 77,000 + miles. We were not aware that there will be no road service when we took the car over to St John. We were pretty much on our own if it break down. Perhaps it was in the fine print when I reserved the car, but I do not recall seeing that.Cons:
Upfront on all these conditions to take care to St John from St Thomas. The rental agency is not very inviting and off site from airport. There is a shuttle, which is ok2.0 Poor

Apr 2021
Pros:
People are friendly. Shuttle ran frequently enough. They had the minivan I rented "in stock." Pricing seemed astronomically high but honestly I couldn't find anything cheaper for that week so I guess that makes them a good value?Cons:
The van they gave me was absolutely beat to hell, dents and scratches everywhere. Looked like all their cars were pretty beat up. In their defense, most of the cars on the island look like that. Not a big deal as long as the car runs I guess, which mine did. Just make sure you take pictures before you drive off. None of the employees was in any hurry to get anything done, although this "island time" mentality is true throughout St Thomas, so just be patient and it'll be fine. Lastly, when they picked us up from the airport they packed a TON of people from different parties in the same van and drove it with the windows up and the A/C on recirculate. Not the best COVID practice.4.0 Mediocre

Pros:
Agent attempted to coordinate efforts with a different reservation we had with another company regarding the delayed pick up of an additional vehicle. Due to the extended length of time we had to wait she waived the fee to add a second driver to the reservation so we could make arrangements to get the additional vehicle.Cons:
We arrived to pick up reserved vehicle around 2:45p and did not received the vehicle until approximately 4:50. Staff did not provide updates on the status of availability of vehicle and had few to no alternatives to offer due to unavailability of vehicles. Since we were renting a minivan she could not offer an upgrade for this rental, made no offer for a discount on current or future rental. Very disappointed that the inconvenience to our group did not even receive an apology for the circumstances or any type of service consolation. One location in Charlotte Amalie

Pros:
staff was courteous but for some reason me and my wife had to hop on a $10 each taxi to get a ride from the airport to another Avis location to pick up the car. So extra $20. They did not provide a courtesy shuttle.Cons:
What could be better? Well for one - a courtesy shuttle or have the car available at the Avis location at the airport. 2 - not give me a car that had a scratch or a dent on EVERY panel. and 3 - not give me a car with a BULLET HOLE on the top of the roof. Yep. We had the most gangsta car rental on the island.2.0 Poor
Oct 2019
Pros:
Nothing since they didn’t honor my reservation despite confirming it 4 days prior to traveling traveling. Further, no one even offered any help finding another car.Cons:
Starting with don’t overbook, Avis should at least pay a penalty to confirmed renters if they cannot fulfill their obligations5.2 Fair
Jul 2018
Pros:
I did like that the car was clean, it was the car I reserved.Cons:
Avis did not have my car! I land on an island and now I am stranded at the airport with no car, Avis tells me its Kayak's fault, and Kayak's office was closed. NO one was willing to help me on either side. I had to take a cab to the airport and come back the next day to the same location to get a car that was already there. It was bad, I had to spend my first 2 days of vacation dealing with this rental car reservation. No thanks AVIS or Kayak. One location in Charlotte Amalie
